The 2022 Admission Event of the Nankai University-University of Glasgow Joint Graduate School (N-G JGS) was held simultaneously through Zoom meeting, Bilibili, and Weibo live platform in the afternoon of October 13th, 2021. In-depth exchanges with prospective candidates from all over the country were conducted, joined by the NKU Academic Affairs Office, and heads of departments from both universities.
This event offered detailed information regarding enrollment and answers to many questions. Ms. Jiang Yafang, the head of NKU Graduate School Academic Affairs Office, and heads of departments from both universities introduced the history of N-G JGS and its teaching objectives. N-G JGS offers four majors: International Relations, Regional Economics (Urban and Regional Planning), Environmental Science, and English Language and Literature (Translation and Professional Practice). A thorough introduction regarding the enrollment requirements, curriculum design, past research, and summer camp activities are offered to prospective applicants. There were also Ph.D. students from the University of Glasgow, as well as 2019 graduates of N-G JGS sharing their first-hand experience of studying at N-G JGS. Later, teachers answered questions related to the student status, the campus location, and the facilities of the campus.
Unfortunately, face-to-face communication was not feasible. However, the enthusiasm from prospective candidates was felt, with continuous exchanges conducted in the N-G JGS information-sharing group chat. The information provided helped candidates reaffirm their decision of attending the enrollment exam.
