Key Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the development and implementation of Nankai University's plan for discipline construction, according to its latest construction goals and the development levels of disciplines.

2. Responsible for the organization of the evaluation of First-level Disciplines and Professional Degrees at national level.

3. Responsible for the professional and qualification evaluation of Nankai University's degree programs.

4. Responsible for the declaration and evaluation of degree programs for Second-level Disciplines and interdisciplines (within and outside the Catalogue of Disciplines and Specialties for Granting Doctor’s and Master’s Degrees and Training Graduate Students).

5. Responsible for the construction of city-level Key Disciplines and First-class Disciplines in Tianjin.

6. Responsible for the recognition of qualifications of postgraduate supervisors and the appointment of supervisors, and for providing assistance of training of new supervisors to the Teacher Training Center.

7. Responsible for information collection and updating of doctoral supervisors of the Ministry of Education; for data collection and updating of the supervisor system in Nankai University; for annual collection and updating of the information on disciplines in the Degree Center.

8. Responsible for the recommendation and renewal of the members of the National Education Guidance Committee of Professional Degrees and the members of the Discipline Review Panel of Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council.
